In-Car Data Units A full-colour full-PC GPS mobile data-head, inside a driver's vehicle. The data-head controls all communication, keeping both drivers and base fully informed and up-to-date at all times. We are continually adding new technologies to the Cab5000 software suite. Some of these new features are at Base, and some are in the drivers' vehicles. One of the most useful and popular technologies is Mobile Data Heads - these are special screens fitted in each vehicle. They provide the driver with all the information he needs to make efficient use of his time. The screens are also used to show him the details of his jobs, and to display messages sent from base. We are very flexible; we can recommend specific data-heads, or we can attach to a range of data-heads, PDAs, etc.
Benefits: By installing a Mobile Data Unit in each of your vehicles, you can increase the speed and efficiency of your taxi operation many times. You also eliminate the need for voice, and display more accurate information to each driver. The Data Units can receive job details, numbers of cars and jobs in each plot, etc. ... and transmit back to base each vehicle's location, status (eg. 'Passenger on Board') and meter fare information. They can plot your drivers' positions automatically, and allow automatic dispatch (your dispatcher just sits back and watches the jobs being sent-off by the computer). |
