Here are some questions that we are often asked by the owners of taxi firms before they buy a CAB system.

Q. Will my staff need extensive re-training?
A. No. Usually we will be with you through your first day of using the computer system, in case there are any teething problems. Without any previous experience of keyboards or computers, your staff should be nearly full-speed experts within 3 weeks of starting to use Cab5000. Jobs will be booked and given out faster than ever before.
Q. Will I need to employ new staff?
A . No. Cab5000 helps your present staff to become more effective and more efficient. Your business should be able to expand with more cars or cabs while keeping the same number of office staff.
Q. I have about 20 cars. Will Cab5000 help my business?
A. Yes. A Cab5000 taxi system will handle your business easily. As the software's efficiency increases your business, you can increase your fleet. As you grow, Cab5000 will continue to help you, no matter how large your fleet becomes.
Q. I have over 100 cars. Is there a maximum number Cab5000 can cope with?
A. No! A Cab5000 taxi system is already successfully running a firm of over 200 cars. And of course Cab5000 is equally successful in running both 'black cabs' and private hire cars.
Q. I take account work, multiple jobs, jobs requiring a wheel-chair, etc., as well as 'normal' jobs. Can Cab5000 cope with these?
A. Yes. Cab5000 can distinguish specific requirements, eg. when a larger vehicle might be required. It records all these types of jobs, along with destinations, times, messages, drivers, etc. When you want to know a detail, it will instantly display the information on the computer screen for you.
Q. My taxi operation is different from most people's. I have specialist needs. Will Cab5000 help me?
A . Yes. Before you buy Cab5000, we'll discuss all your particular needs. Your Cab5000 system will be customized for all the streets in your area and for all your 'well-known' pickup points.
Q. At present I am getting bogged-down in paper-work. As my taxi operation grows in the future, things can only get worse. Can Cab5000 help me?
A. Yes! The elimination of paper-work is just one of the many reasons why a thriving operation needs Cab5000 in order to compete effectively. You should be able to complete your accounts more easily.
Q. I want to add messages to my jobs: "go to the back door", "wedding party", etc. Can Cab5000 do this?
A. Yes, easily. Cab5000 can do all that a paper system can do, but faster, easier, and more efficiently.
Q. Is Cab5000 fair to the drivers?
A. Yes, Cab5000 is absolutely fair. This is one of its main advantages to drivers. Cab5000 helps to prevent any 'feeding' of jobs, and the software can give a full printed record of all jobs so that you can check if necessary.
Q. What about 'data units' that show the job on a screen inside the taxi. Can these be used with the Cab5000 system?
A. Yes. We can provide you with Data Units at very competitive prices, and they link naturally into our computer system. This way you can give out jobs even faster and more efficiently.
Q. Can I lease the computer equipment?
A. Yes, we can usually make arrangements for you to lease all the 'hardware' equipment, including servicing.
Q. What happens if the computer breaks down?
A . This is rare, providing you don't spill coffee on it! In most cases we install a second 'back-up' computer, on which you would normally check your account work, etc. If necessary this second computer can take over.
Q. What happens if the electricity fails?
A. You would have to start up the computer again (this takes two or three minutes). If you wish, a stand-by electricity supply can be arranged so that you can continue even if there is a power failure.
Q. What happens if my business expands? Is the Cab5000 system expandable?
A. Yes, the Cab5000 system is easily expandable, so that it can grow with your business.
Q. What support do you give after Cab5000 is installed?
A. Unlike other computer systems, we give you continual support, whenever you need it. Your payment for the Cab5000 system includes all the support that you'll need.
In particular, our telephone Help-line gives you an immediate contact and expert help. We also undertake to provide you with software improvements and customising that you may request from time to time.
Our computer programmers are constantly adding extra features requested by other customers, and you automatically get the benefit of these.
Q. How much does Cab5000 cost?
A. For a specific answer to this we need to talk to you directly about your specific needs. However, as a guide, a full Cab5000 system can cost less than £1 per week per car for the Cab5000 system software and full Help-Line support.
